Care of the Hair

العناية بالشعر

Lift your hat from your hair in summer and from your face in winter. The greatest rule of health you can follow is to expose your hair to the sun and the open air, which stir vitality in it and encourage its growth — for today's fashion calls for long hair.

To help it grow, use massage daily, brushing and combing it beside the window, and pay your simple visits without a hat. Dry your hair in the sun, for this strengthens it — unless your hair is of the dry kind, in which case do not expose it too much to the sun's rays; and do not refrain from washing it twice a week with hot water.

Today's fashion demands long hair and an attractive appearance, and then a manner of dressing it that allows the hat to sit comfortably when it is worn.

If you are one of those who do not neglect the hat by day, then any fashion you please is yours; otherwise avoid the high coiffure under the hat, and keep it for evening parties only.

Your hair is the greatest proof of your health; therefore take care of it, and preserve its growth and its luster, so that it may remain as you want it and as pleases you.

And perhaps you enjoy going out without a hat — flowers can take its place.
