♦ Through an oversight, the name of the accomplished Miss Loris Hallas was dropped from the last issue of "The Woman's Voice," in the article "From a Palestinian Girl to an American Girl" — a letter Miss Hallas had sent to her friends in America. We apologize to the accomplished young writer for this oversight.

♦ The party held by the "Orphan Committee" attached to the National Recovery Project at the American University was among the refined parties; the speakers were Messrs.: Dr. Constantine Zurayk, vice-president of the University; Father Antoine Kortbawi; the woman of letters Miss Rose Ghorayeb; Mr. Abdullah al-Alayli; and the poet Elias Khalil Zakhariya.

The party was interspersed with songs presented by the "Druze Orphanage" and the Islamic Orphanage.

The Orphan Committee had also held a poetry competition on the subject of "The Orphan." The jury, made up of Miss Salma Sayegh Hamwi, the poet Elias Zakhariya, and the poet Fouad Suleiman, met and examined the poems submitted; and the committee decided to divide the value of the prize, amounting to 150 Lebanese lira, among the following poets: Ali Ahmad Said, Nassim Nasr, and Georges Ghorayeb.

♦ The Syrian-Lebanese newspaper published in "Buenos Aires" has brought out a special issue of 84 pages, on the occasion of its entering its twentieth year.
