Summer... Summer

الصيف ... الصيف

Spring has passed with its flowers and its smiles, and summer has arrived with its heat and its vexations. But fear no harm, for there are no obstacles that you cannot overcome in order to obtain from this season all you desire of pleasures, and all you long for of beauty of appearance and attractiveness.

Here are some counsels and directions which, if you follow them, will help you attain this end:

In this season of the year, all you desire of pleasures and long for of beauty of appearance and attractiveness.

Avoid colors of strong sheen in the makeup you use. And beware of putting any oily substance on the eyelids. If paint must be used, then only a very little of it, and in the evening only.

If you spend some time at the seashore, do not venture into the water unless you are certain that the materials you use in your makeup are of the kind that water cannot penetrate (waterproof).

Care for Your Feet
Do not forget to dust a quantity of boric powder between the toes before putting on your shoes. And if there is on your feet any patch of dry or rough skin, be regular in rubbing it with the pumice stone twice a day. Have a pedicure once a month; the polish, every week.

As for the toenails, your attention to them should be no less than to the fingernails.

Your Legs
You will seldom be wearing stockings, so you must see that your legs are entirely free of hair. And whatever method you use to remove it, you must do so at least twice a month.

It is well to be regular in using a good cream to massage the legs once a day, for this will help you keep the skin moist and give it a great degree of suppleness.

Perspiration
Do not forget to use a deodorant, especially under the arms. This deodorant alone is not enough: you must attend to general cleanliness, and do not neglect your daily bath, whatever the circumstances.
