The Season of the Sun... / On the Seashores

موسم الشمس ... / على شواطئ البحر

Summer is seasons upon seasons ....

The seasons of the mountain and the seasons of the shores ...
And all of them splendid and enchanting ...

For in summer the mountain paths glow with the colors of joy and of peace of mind .. the grape clusters rejoice in their safety, and eyes and hearts long for them.

... And the Lebanese shores in summer — their sands glow to the ululations of the young girls, under the rays of the sun ...

And this is their season ...

The season of the sun, when life moves in processions of joy and gladness, and the body rests easy under the ticklings of the sunbeam and the waves of the sea swaying gently upon the sands ...

And the sea ... demands its own dress and adornment ... How often a lady neglects her appearance at the beach and makes light of her adornment, because she feels she makes no show there ... But the sea, too, has its own splendid elegance. For the short "maillot"

with its wide, ruffled pleats looks like a palm tree if your legs are slender.

And do not forget these necessary things when you set out for the sea: a handbag in which to put your articles; a pretty hat to wear when the heat grows fierce; dark glasses to protect your eyes from the sun's rays; and put on light shoes that will help you over the sand and pebbles; and it is well to bring along a bottle of cologne.

... And here are some models of the new maillots that have come to "The Woman's Voice" specially from New York, having appeared for the first time in America this summer.
