Household Matters

شؤون الدار

● If you fear that crepe georgette, or similar kinds of fabric, will pucker when sewn on the machine, fasten it to a sheet of paper; the paper keeps it from shifting, and at the end it can be torn away and removed easily and without harm.

● If the knitting needles you have kept from last year are covered with rust, do not buy new ones, for they can be cleaned with any metal polish.

● If you want to clean your gramophone records without damaging them, wipe them with a piece of soft cloth dipped in paraffin oil, and make quite sure they are dry before using them again.

● Some ladies are afraid to wash their satin garments, for fear of losing the sheen. But the sheen of satin is not lost if the garments are rinsed in water mixed with borax.
