Wallada

Wallada

ولادة · ولادة

A lover bade farewell to patience when he bade farewell to you,
letting slip the secret you had entrusted to him.

He gnashes his teeth in regret that he did not
add more to those steps when he saw you off.

O brother of the full moon in splendor and in light,
God keep the time that made you rise.

If my night runs long after you — how often
I passed the night with you, complaining that the night was too short.
