A Woman's Personality Through Colors

Red

It is the color that stirs the blood, the color of vitality. It is sought by those of springing movements, with a daring before which the calamities of existence shrink. Life has a great meaning for you, whether your life is crowded with events or you wish it to be so. You are not extreme in your desires: for you have no true passion for anything.

Nothing fills your thoughts but your own private concerns. You want to take without giving. And your sweeping selfishness does not keep you from being shaken at hearing the cries of your victims. You are the woman of sweeping judgments upon people: either you love, or you hate. And your favorite amusement is to take one side or the other of this question or that, without ever pressing for a solution or a settlement.

Orange

If you are among the lovers of this color, you are a personality to be envied: an ideal companion, easy of temper, smiling and gay, obliging to others because of the hatred of solitude in your soul. You long for company, whether its members be the exceptional or the vagabonds, and you conduct yourself among them all with complete ease, never forgetting to display your superiority on every occasion. The dearest of your friends to you is the newest of them; but you care nothing for any old friendship, even if it was a cause of your happiness. Beloved, changeable in opinion and in company, born to verbal wit with a touch of mockery — a quality no one can deny you, only you must refine it. Superiority does not occupy your mind, because you are usually in the lead, and this is what makes you affectionate and attractive in your superficial, passing relations.

Gray

And if you have picked gray, then you today are other than you were yesterday. A woman who, with her piercing practical, material sense, has turned against her past nature and adapted herself to the circumstances of the new environment into whose ranks she has entered, or wished to enter. She is her own mistress. And in truth she has changed completely from what she was. Most of our friends are people of brains, for the color gray is the ally of the mind, not the ally of elegance and wit.

Black

The woman of this color has a double personality. It is the color of disguise and shifting hues; it accords with the temperament of the woman who leads one life of her own and another public one. For the color black points to the mystery and fantasy in the soul of its wearer. And she who loves black delights in knowing what is said about her — so great is her vanity and her admiration of herself.

Pink

If you love this color, you are a creature breathing femininity and charm, seeking to live in a sweet, limpid atmosphere. You have a steady mind and a sound taste in your dress, in the choice of your friends, and in your manners, like the accomplished daughter of society. You savor culture and its refined blessings; you seek the admiration of others, yet that admiration often embarrasses you when you obtain it. People incline toward you by an instinctive impulse, only to meet rebuff from you — by your instinct too. An excellent wife, with all the attraction men harbor for you.

Yellow

The fancier of this color is keen and clever, aspiring to the highest ideals without illusion or dreams. She is at ease with people as a group, because she loves the effect of her words upon their souls, though she cares nothing for any one of them. Likewise she seeks the company of others, though she wearies of it. She has excellent opinions, and in her view her opinions ought to be the opinions of those around her, whether in choosing a husband or in buying a dress. This confidence in her own opinion is no bad thing; only her device in it is intellectual domination. Therefore, however sincere the attention she shows to what others say, she is not influenced by it. It would better become you, woman of yellow, to come down from the heights of your ideals and to look at things from a human side.

Summary:
Red: you are ever ready to spring. Your life is crowded with events.
Orange: you are easy of temper.
Gray: you are the ally of reason.
Black: your personality is double.
Pink: bewitching femininity.
Yellow: keen and clever.
Green: indulgent.

The woman of the color green shows a comprehensive knowledge and a desire to understand the problems of others; indulgent and forgiving, supple of spirit, with little eccentricity or affectation. You fall quickly in love without being fickle in your attachments. You believe in the good intentions of people and welcome their love and the praise of you it contains. Sparing without stinginess. And in your inmost soul you exult that you possess more than others do. You are a good wife, especially as you are a skilled housewife. You have all the qualifications that raise you to a position of leadership — not because you truly excel others, but because the group trusts you. The advice for you is to exercise your understanding more than your learning, for the piercing mind lies not in answering every question, but in reflection and insight.

If you are of the party of blue, you are made for the love of plumbing the depths of the soul, and for keeping to the traditions. You feel with others as much as you feel with yourself. You are safe from extravagant appetites and desires. You have a firmness that does not suit the taste of others. You give special care to your dress, your words, and your movements. And because you live a quiet life, you expect others to follow your example. And do not think that the practical temper is devoid of perfection. Therefore you must be tolerant with others, for what annoys you may be a source of amusement to them.
