The Child Protection Society's Party in Zahle

حفلة جمعية حماية الطفل في زحلة

This party was almost a festival, held in honor of the woman of letters, that lady of merit and refined cultivation, Mrs. Mari Yanni Ata Allah.

The speech-making ceremony, and the banquet generous in sincere feeling, which the society held on the Bardouni, were a moving hour of farewell to the great woman of letters, who left us with tears in her eyes...

"The Woman's Voice" had occasion to hear Mrs. Mari's address and her theory of social reform, as well as a fine speech in classical Arabic by the advisor, the wife of Mr. Camille Rizk, with which she introduced the speaker and which showed a mature culture. Then the secretary, the wife of Mr. Wadih Nasrallah, told us how the society came into being and how it works, thanks to the efforts of the ladies of Zahle, the generosity of its men, and the aid of the Zahle community in America. We heard a note of deep devotion, which we sensed after the speeches in the faces of the society's gracious members.

Forward, friends of the children!
