The Infants' and Children's Hospital in Beirut

مستشفى الاطفال والاولاد في بيروت

The first grand hospital devoted to the treatment of infants and children in Lebanon, a medico-social institution founded in 1950 by Dr. Abdo Feghali, head of the department of infants' and children's diseases in the Lebanese Ministry of Health and Lebanon's delegate to the international organization for the relief of childhood and motherhood.

The hospital contains forty beds, a portion of them free, with every modern treatment; it has special wards for the rearing of infants born before term, a laboratory for chemical and bacteriological analyses, ultraviolet rays, special kitchens for the preparation of food for sick children, and all the branches of children's medicine. Its situation faces the historic pine forest and the mountains of Lebanon, and its facade of 65 meters receives sun and air from every side: all of which makes this hospital an institute unique of its kind in Lebanon.

It houses the free center for the relief of childhood and motherhood, according to the program of the World Health Organization in Geneva.
