Princess Elizabeth, a model of motherhood

The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Britain has conferred its honorary diploma upon Princess Elizabeth. Dr. Sir William Gilliatt remarked on this occasion that the English-speaking world looks to Princess Elizabeth as a model of womanhood and motherhood.

In the picture the reader sees Princess Elizabeth wearing the official gown customarily worn by graduates of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the graduates' ceremony. Beside her is Sir William Gilliatt.

* It has been officially announced that Her Highness Princess Elizabeth, heiress to the throne, and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh have accepted with pleasure President Truman's invitation to her to pay a visit to the United States.
