A New Air Route for Pan American

خط جوي جديد لشركة بان اميركان

★ Mr. Norman Blake, director of Pan American World Airways for the Middle East and Asia region, announced that this week the company opened the fastest air-freight route across the Atlantic Ocean. On the said route the huge aircraft of the DO DA type are being used, which cover a distance of 300 miles in a single hour.

This is the first air route across the Atlantic on which aircraft fitted with special internal air-pressure apparatus are employed, to insure that goods arrive safely. These aircraft can carry animals and perishable goods from one place to another while preserving and maintaining their speed as they fly at towering altitudes.

In addition to the air-pressure apparatus inside the aircraft, the company's competent administration has equipped it with special localized heating and cooling apparatus, so that the temperature can be varied during the hours of its flight through the skies. And this type of aircraft has a special advantage for transport, in that its doors have been made huge and wide to admit goods of every kind.
