The Story of My Love

The Rahbani Brothers

قصة حبي · الاخوين رحباني

From the collection Saraa Maha by the Rahbani Brothers, published today

The story of my love —
no bird, no brook,
no mouth can tell it.

The story of my love
is a tale of fragrance —
how, then, shall I tell it?

When people tell people, tomorrow,
the stories of love and the tidings of longing,
I plunge into silence, and my thought
crosses the distance toward you, on the road of the years —
its longing cannot be folded away —
and filling my heart,
the story of my love,
too beautiful to be told.
