Answer "Yes" and Please Him!

1 — Do you do your utmost to appear at your best when you make ready to go out with him, and then attend to his amusement, putting it before your own demands?

2 — Do you show good cheer, and smile at him from your heart?

3 — Do you avoid vexing him by calling his attention to some defect you were unable to remedy—saying to him, for instance: "My hair is untidy this evening," or, "I don't know why I bought this dress today"?

4 — Do you accept his praise with grace and contentment, without explaining to him the details of the diet that keeps your figure trim, and without rebuffing him and paying no heed to his words?

5 — Do you habitually praise his appearance?

6 — Do you create an atmosphere of affection and harmony, without appearing demanding or affected?

7 — Do you speak softly, even if you must strive to lower the pitch of your voice?

8 — Do you make him feel your strong faith in him, and your pleasure in listening to him talk of his work?

9 — Do you avoid parading your popularity by discussing engagements or parties of your own?

10 — Do you please him by wearing a dress or a color that he likes?

11 — Do you make him feel your ability to amuse and divert him without his having to sweep out his pocket as the price of it?

12 — Do you try to economize, going to no extremes in spending or in dress, and do you do so with such art and discernment that it never draws his attention?
