Miss Marie Doueihy's Lecture at the Cénacle Libanais

محاضرة الآنسة ماري دوين في الندوة اللبنانية

• Monday, December 6, was the date of Miss Marie Doueihy's lecture at the Cénacle Libanais on the social mission of the Lebanese woman. The lecture was one link in the series "Lebanon's Social Questions"; it dealt with woman's social mission, and that of the Lebanese woman in particular, on the consideration that Lebanon stands in a position where, once its social problems are solved, the solution of the other problems on the national level becomes easy. The lecturer, Miss Marie Doueihy, is a poet in French and has full command, besides Arabic and French, of Spanish. In her lecture she surveyed women's work in the social field, and expressed the wish that their work might go beyond mere good works, and that they might take up a work of social guidance from which we may hope for much good.
