The Engagement of Miss Hind Najjar and Mr. Ramez Saab, and News of the YWCA

خطبة الآنسة هند نجار والأستاذ رامز صعب وأخبار الجمعية المسيحية للشابات

• The harmony between the young lady and the young man shows plainly in this picture! The happy betrothed pair are Miss Hind, daughter of Dr. Sulayman Najjar (seated at her right), a graduate of Beirut College for Women, and Mr. Ramez Abdel Halim Saab of Shweifat, an electrical engineer from the University of Oklahoma in the United States and at present a professor in the School of Engineering at the American University of Beirut.

Their engagement took place at an elegant family party that gathered a select company of friends of both parties; as for the crowning of the rejoicings — that comes with next spring! To them our warmest congratulations and our most sincere good wishes.

• The social affairs committee of the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) has resumed its activity by inviting the Association's friends to a monthly luncheon during which one of the men of thought speaks. On December 15 the Deputy Mr. Ghassan Tueni spoke on the subject: "Human Rights in the Arab Countries." The next luncheon falls on January 12, when His Excellency Mr. Philippe Takla will treat "The Problems of Administration in Lebanon."

The Woman's Voice appeals to readers not to fail to attend these gatherings, which are held at the Alumni Club for the enlightenment of public opinion.
