American Women Outdo Men in Poetry!
The "annual" Bollingen Prize for poetry for the year 1954 has been won by two American ladies, Léonie Adams and Louise Bogan — and critics and men of letters had already judged the two prize-winning poetesses to be the best representatives of the character of contemporary American poetry.
