Mrs. Middleton in Beirut

Mrs. Middleton, wife of His Excellency the new British Ambassador, arrived in Beirut by plane on the ninth of May, coming from Australia, her birthplace, where she had been spending her holiday.

She was met at the airport by His Excellency the Ambassador and the senior officials of the Embassy with their wives. In the picture, from right to left, are Mr. Scott, the British Chargé d'Affaires, and the wife of His Excellency the Ambassador shaking hands with Mrs. Gauntlett and her husband, First Secretary of the Information Department.
