The Prayer of Peace

صلاة السلام

O God, make me an instrument for spreading peace: where hatred reigns, let me sow the seeds of love.
And where injury and aggression abound, let me breathe into souls the spirit of tolerance and forgiveness; and where evil and unbelief reign, let me guide men to faith; and where despair prevails, let me spread hope; and where darkness reigns, let me spread light; and where sorrow prevails, let me spread joy.
Do not permit, O my God, that I fix my thought on what others ought to do for me; rather set my thought on what I ought to do for others; and let me not think of their love for me, but make me think of my love for them.
