An Egyptian Bride for Nabil Khouri

عروس مصرية لنبيل خوري

At last our colleague Nabil Khouri has forsaken bachelorhood and chosen a life companion from Egyptian climes: the beautiful Marcelle Chalhoub.

The wedding ceremony, held in Cairo on the evening of July 7 last, was attended by some 600 persons, among them men of the press and leading personalities. The bride appeared radiant in the splendor of a wedding gown that some of the Egyptian papers described as the gown of the season for elegance and luxury. After a honeymoon "brief and to the point," the groom was obliged to return to Beirut alone, his bride to follow him once the legal formalities are completed. It is said that Nabil is busy furnishing a small house in Bikfaya, where the newlyweds will spend what remains of the summer months gathering the fruits of love.

"Sahtein"—we say it in a whisper to the young bride and groom, wishing them lasting bliss and happiness.
