Miss Maria Ann Million Donates Her Blood to the Arab Cause

She is an American from California, pursuing her studies this year at the American University of Beirut, sent by the international "Rotary Club" in view of her excellence among her classmates in study.

We publish her picture with esteem and affection, following word that reached us that Miss Million was among the first of the students of the American University who, in the wake of the aggression against Egypt, donated their blood in support of the Arab cause.

It is no great thing that we should give of our money and our blood. But that an American girl, a stranger, should donate her blood for the sake of our cause — that is more than much, and calls for appreciation and thanks.

Miss Million was the guest of honor at the grand party given by the Rotary Club at the Saint George Hotel on the evening of November 12, attended by the American ambassador and many figures of the diplomatic and civil corps. She spoke in French, thanking the Lebanese for the great warmth and fine hospitality she had met among them, which she will remember as long as she lives.
