On the Present Situation

حول الوضع الحاضر

In times past, society events were so numerous, crowding one upon another, that the pages set aside for them were too narrow to hold them. Last month, however, they grew scarce to the point of drying up altogether, owing to the grave international circumstances that have left their mark on everything. We hope that social life will return to its former gaiety and cheer with the return of normal life to sister Egypt, and that the specter of war will withdraw from the world's stage — above all from the countries of the Middle East.
