At the Cadmus Thursday: Four New Candidates for the Roles of Europa and Mirra

Four new candidates for the roles of Europa and Mirra

With the coming of October, Beirut has grown crowded with people once more, and all who deserted her in the days of heat have returned... The intellectual and artistic circles have resumed their meetings, sifting the events of the past summer, chief among them the Baalbek festivals and the activities that sprang from them—such as the idea of performing "Cadmus" at next summer's festivals.

The "Cadmus Thursday" has won the attention of the Beirut elite, and around it has gathered a company of those who foster acting, who consider it a blessed nucleus for the birth of a theater in Lebanon—especially since the mainstay of this movement are elements in whom talent, learning, and experience are combined: I mean Professors Kamel Costandi and Nizar Mikati.

And The Woman's Voice, which has adopted the project, is still pressing forward in the responsibility it has taken upon its shoulders, searching for two university girls fit for the roles of Europa and Mirra, with the aid of a committee of friends and experts to select the fittest among the candidates for these two roles..
