A Visit to the Grand Mufti

On Wednesday, October 5, a women's delegation — composed of the president of the Lebanese Arab Women's Federation, Miss Ibtihaj Kaddoura, and several of its members: Mrs. Heneni Tarcha, the wife of Mr. Amin Beyhum, the wife of Nur al-Din Beyhum, the wife of Mr. Muhammad Daouk, the wife of Mr. Salim Saab, and the wife of Dr. Rihan — proceeded to the Tanios annex in Aley to welcome His Eminence Hajj Amin al-Husseini and to offer the volunteered service of the Lebanese ladies.

The president of the Federation welcomed His Eminence in the Federation's name, offering the Lebanese woman's readiness to volunteer in performing her duty toward Palestine, and recalling that the Federation has made Palestine's cause its own ever since events took their turn.

These words fell beautifully upon His Eminence's soul, and he replied in moving phrases, recalling that the Arab woman has always carried, and carries still, a merciful heart between her ribs, a wise mind in her head, and a valor that history has immortalized.
