From the People of Mimas

من اهالي ميمس

◆ From the people of Mimas we have received the following word:

The gracious Al-Nahda An-Nisaiyah Society has founded a free school for girls in our town of Mimas, and has likewise undertaken to furnish it with benches and some school equipment at its own expense. Ever since its founding (that is, the school's), the ladies of the gracious society have never ceased to lavish the utmost care upon the school's pupils — guidance, assistance, and the adoption of skilled educational methods and ways of great value for their training and their enlightenment.

The society recently approached the Lebanese Red Cross society, of illustrious services, and obtained from it a sufficient number of school pinafores (smocks) for the school's girls, and so dressed them in a uniform dress.

The people of Mimas, great and small among them, thank from the depths of the heart the kind deed of the gracious Al-Nahda An-Nisaiyah Society toward them, and they wish this living society — which is rightly counted among the most useful and most devoted charitable institutions in Lebanon — continued progress and lasting success in its blessed social undertakings.
