Miss Sariya al-Hawja

الآنسة سرية الحوجة

◆ Miss Sariya al-Hawja is one of the outstanding young Arab women. She graduated from the American University of Beirut holding a "Master of Sciences" degree in history.

She arrived in Beirut last month on her way back to Iraq; Miss Sariya had been a member of the Iraqi delegation to the United Nations for the consideration of the Palestine question.

She talked with us at length about Palestine, and in her talk we could feel the spirit of the conscious, cultivated, ardent Arab woman.

Miss Sariya was one of three women who shared in the membership of the Iraqi delegation, namely: Mrs. Sarah, wife of Dr. Fadil Jamali, Iraq's Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mrs. Badia Afnan; and Miss Sariya al-Hawja.

And The Woman's Voice is proud indeed of the noble Iraqi woman, who goes down into life armed with learning, knowledge, and character.
