Plays for Young People

مسرحيات الاحداث

Last month Miss Rose Ghorayeb published "Plays for Young People," a collection made up of five plays, which had been preceded by the play "Christmas Eve" — all of these out of fourteen plays ready for the press, which will appear in due course.

It is worth mentioning that Miss Rose Ghorayeb has experience and taste in this art. She has already published, with great success, a charming collection of children's songs which found the loveliest echo in the kindergartens and primary schools, for its lightness of spirit and its harmony with the simple inclinations of childhood... And today she brings out, for the Arab child's library, "Plays for Young People," in the belief that the art of acting, quite apart from its attraction for children, is one of the greatest aids to learning the language and to its good delivery, comprehension, and appreciation.

In many modern schools it is counted an essential part of culture, especially when singing runs through it — and this is precisely what the author has done: she has adorned her collection with sufficient explanations and with charming colored illustrations, and songs whose melodies have been set down with strict accuracy are interspersed through the scenes.
