Are You a Woman of Strong Personality?

Ellen Naghawi — Amman

هل أنت ذات شخصية قوية؟ · الن نغوي - عمان

Every human being has a personality that distinguishes him from other people. Some personalities we find commanding, strong, and attractive, making their impress upon the soul; others are feeble and repellent, from which one shrinks at first sight. Between these two personalities lie many personalities varying in strength and weakness to the farthest limits. But what concerns us among these personalities is that personality which comes in the first rank. The possessor of an outstanding personality must have at hand many elements that go to compose this personality.

(1) The most important of these elements is that a person be endowed with broad culture and abundant learning, which make him understand the affairs of life, its problems, and its truth; and this comes only to one to whom God has granted intelligence, understanding, education, and endurance in study and in its pursuit.

(2) That a person be sociable, concerned with public questions; witty, charming, and light of spirit; an adroit talker to whom the ear loves to listen and of whom it asks for more.

(3) That a person be marked by praiseworthy morals and virtuous qualities, for people respect him in proportion to the high ideals he takes as the basis of his life.

(4) Elegance of appearance, self-denial, love of the good, diligence in work, resolution, self-confidence, the keeping of promises, and that his words not be one thing and his deeds another. Whoever is marked by these praiseworthy qualities cannot fail to be a person of prominent, respected personality in society.
