Queen Victoria and Prince Albert

الملكة فكتوريا والامير البرت

★ Queen Victoria discovered, in the early days of her marriage, the difference between ruling the kingdom and ruling a husband. One day, when her angry temper flared, Prince Albert went into his room and locked the door behind him. The Queen followed in a fury and cried: "Open the door!" He made no answer. She knocked at the door again, incensed, and Albert said: "Who is it?" She answered: "The Queen of England." The door remained locked. Then she knocked once more, saying: "In the name of the Queen of England, I demand that you open." She was silent a moment, then whispered gently: "It is your wife, Albert."

This time Albert opened — a smile filling his mouth!..
