Dr. Doria Shafik's Lecture at the University Women's Union

محاضرة الدكتورة درية شفيق في اتحاد الجامعيات

★ The University Women's Union issued an invitation for Thursday evening, January 28, at half past six, to hear a lecture delivered by Dr. Doria Shafik, president of the "Bint al-Nil Union." The subject of the lecture was "Woman and the Arab Cause."

The University Women's Union welcomed the gracious Egyptian guest, who is leading the Egyptian woman along the road of emancipation and equality. The president, Dr. Zahia Kaddoura, gave a grand tea party in her honor, to which she invited the choicest elite of the men of state and the people of thought and pen; and she likewise introduced her to those of the Lebanese public who had had no opportunity to hear her precious lecture, through a session around the microphone broadcast from the Beirut station in the corner "The Woman's Weekly Talk," in which she set forth her position on the many problems that hamper the Arab woman's progress and bar her from reaching her sought-for goal.

Other contacts were made between Dr. Doria Shafik and the women's circles in Lebanon, whose echo will appear in the next issue..
