Woman and University Education

• On Thursday evening, March 25, in the hall of the Ministry of National Education, at the invitation of the "Union of Universities," Dr. Kamal al-Hajj delivered a valuable lecture entitled: Woman and University Education, in which he treated freedom from the philosophical and educational standpoints. It is worth mentioning that the lecturer was most successful in linking his theory of freedom to woman's present position and to what she must attain in accordance with the logic of this freedom.

He went on to note the awakening that has arisen in Lebanon to encourage university education — whence the Union of Universities — and this was the first stage of woman's social, economic, and political emancipation.
