Mrs. Nazik Sarkis, Agent of The Woman's Voice in Iraq

السيدة نازك سركيس وكيلة صوت المرأة في العراق

• Mrs. Nazik Sarkis left us for Baghdad on the 24th of last October, joining her daughter Mrs. Jessie, wife of Michel Jureidini, director of the National Rubber Manufacturing Company...

Mrs. Nazik Sarkis is a firm pillar of the women's movement in Lebanon. She holds the Education Medal in recognition of her services in the field of education and teaching for upward of a quarter of a century, in Lebanon and in Iraq. Women's circles know her as "the silent striver" who works without noise and without love of display. She is secretary of the General Arab Women's Union and an active member of no small number of associations, chief among them the Lebanese Women's League and Tahdhib al-Fatat —

And to The Woman's Voice she is among its first champions: she has accompanied it these ten years, and never once denied the magazine her sincere advice and guidance. Her departure for Baghdad, which the women's associations count a great loss, this magazine considers a winning bargain; for Mrs. Sarkis has kindly consented to be "the agent of The Woman's Voice in Iraq," conveying to us each month the news of the Iraqi woman's activity, so that between us and our readers in the sister country there will come about the rapport we have striven to achieve ever since the magazine came into being —

At the hands of Mrs. Nazik Sarkis and by her energy, we hope that The Woman's Voice will pass from the narrow compass to the wide, until it succeeds in entering all women's circles —

With God's blessing, Mrs. Sarkis — may God grant you success!
