Lana Turner's daughter acquitted

The court in Hollywood recently acquitted Miss Cheryl, daughter of Lana Turner, ruling her killing of Johnny Stompanato, her mother's lover, to have been self-defense — or fate and destiny — after a long trial that occupied the press of the world.

This incident was considered a great scandal, than which Hollywood has known none more shocking.

Elizabeth Taylor returns to acting

The actress Elizabeth Taylor has returned to film work for the first time since the death of her husband Mike Todd in an automobile accident. The British-born star worked in scenes of the film "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and the entrances of the studio were shut to keep photographers and newspapermen from coming in.

The love scenes in the film "A Farewell to Arms" have stirred up many stories and rumors, in Hollywood and elsewhere, about the true nature of the relation between the heroine Jennifer Jones and Rock Hudson, and whether there is a new romance between them — which obliged Jennifer's husband to give these rumors the lie, and to affirm that they are devoid of truth and that his wife is faithful to him!
