The Play "Women and Secrets"

تمثيلية نساء واسرار

★ This season of every year is distinguished by the harvest: every institution reaps what it has sown and is eager to announce to the public the results of its work throughout that year. And women's institutions stand out as more attentive to these annual performances, and more accomplished in them, than the institutions of the men.

The play "Women and Secrets" was written and directed by the woman of letters Mrs. Asma Tubi, who has accustomed us every year to presenting one of her dramatic masterpieces, drawn from the very heart of our social and human life.

Mrs. Asma Tubi opened the evening with an eloquent word on the importance of the theater, its national mission, and its vitality by virtue of the living presence of the actors, whereas the cinema gives us dry pictures with neither life nor soul in them...

Taking part in the acting was a bouquet of young girls, the Misses: Lodi Habib, Pauline Said, Najiba Ghanmiyah, Maki Trabulsi, Nihad Abi Murad, Laure Tu'mah, Maha Mitri, Renée Roumi, Jacqueline Haddad, Nadia Murr, Nadia Haddad, and Marcelle Abdel Massih.

The play "Women and Secrets" met with notable success, and word went around in literary circles that it might be performed again — all thanks to the energy and zeal of the literary lady Mrs. Asma Tubi.
